National 401k Day!
The Friday after Labor Day is National 401(k) Day which means now is the perfect time to make sure your retirement plan is working as hard as you are.

Three advantages of contributing regularly to your plan:
1. Convenience
With auto-pay options, your contributions can be made, well, automatically. Just decide how much of your pay you want to contribute toward retirement, and that amount will be deducted from your paycheck. Super easy!
2. Compounding
Compounding can turn a small investment into a large sum, but time is of the essence. It’s an incredible investment vehicle that provides for a place where you can earn interest on each contribution –and then interest on that interest!  The earlier you start saving, the longer time compounding has to work its magic.
3. Tax Benefits
Some contributions into your employer’s retirement plan can reduce your federal income taxes. You don’t need to pay income tax on pretax contributions until you withdraw them at retirement—reducing your taxes today.
Celebrate Your 401(k) by Acting Today!
If you are not enrolled in your company retirement plan, take the time to enroll today…

Consider increasing your retirement plan contributions if you can—especially if you recently got a raise or bonus!

If your employer offers a matching contribution, try to contribute at least the minimum amount needed to get the full benefit (it’s free money)!
